Curiosity Drives Dreams

In the TED talk “Before Avatar… a curious boy”, James Cameron discusses how his curiosity and imagination lead him to success. Particularly, Cameron was always interested in science fiction and understanding the limits of possibility in the world. Cameron referred to himself as an artist and used his creativity in stories and pictures to produce films.

The world’s current events at his time such as the moon landing inspired Cameron. I think other’s experiences can inspire us because we can not only learn from them, but also relate to them and put their experiences in the context of our own lives. Maybe somebody has a great and inspiring life story, but they didn’t get to do something they always wanted to and so I could go on to live that dream of theirs inspired by them and for them.

I am curious about the universe because I think it’s only natural and human nature to want to explore and understand the environment that you’re in so that we’re fully equipped and aware. I’m curious about the universe because I want to have a better understanding of the meaning and circumstances of life.

What I learned about myself from this TED talk is that I too can achieve big dreams of mine and make them a reality as long as I’m passionate about it and I have inspiration in my life to persevere. My curiosity will drive me and inspire others to do what they are also passionate about. Cameron really stresses the importance of curiosity, imagination, respect, and acceptance of failure as it leads to success and achieving your dreams.

So let me ask you (because I'm curious), what are you curious about?
